Dark eye shadow, can you do it?

Eyeshadow, when applied properly, can enhance, or even change, the shape of the eye. By applying dark eyeshadow you can create depth and add drama for an amazing evening look. By using the following techniques, you can apply dark eyeshadow with ease and avoid looking like a serious fashion “don’t”.

Before beginning, you will need the following supplies:

~ The makeup basics: Makeup Primer to help keep your eye shadow in place all night, foundation, concealer, eye brightener, highlighting powder and black mascara and Magic Lash to really bring out the look.
~Your favorite brand of black eyeliner (opt for the pencil, not liquid) Pencil is easier to smudge where liquid or gel eyeliner would not be.
~An angled eyeshadow brush
~Dark eyeshadow(s) of your choice> grays, blues, browns. Smoky eyes do not have to be created with just dark blacks or grays.
~Light and shimmery eyeshadow > this will be applied at the corner around the tear duct, as well just under the brow to really make your eyes pop!
~ Brow pencil > In your eye brow look. It helps pull the hold look together as well.

To begin, you will need to apply your foundation, concealer, eye brightener, highlighting powdered and your other makeup basics before applying your eyeliner and eyeshadow. You will want to apply a thin layer of Makeup Primer on your eye lid to help hold your eye shadows, eyeliner in place.( Reviva Labs offers the best for the price, due to the fact you can multi-task with it, it would amazing under your foundation as well!)
Usually, eyeliner is applied after applying eyeshadow, if you want to create a smoky look, start with the black eyeliner before adding eyeshadow. Create a line that starts at the outer corner of your eyelid and work towards the end of your lashes. Make sure to work as near to the lash line as possible.

Next, you will need to use an angled eyeshadow brush to apply your dark eyeshadow, apply it directly over the eyeliner and gently work it in with the brush to smudge the eyeliner. Ensure that the edges and the entire length of the line is well blended. Throughout this blending is the key to creating the prefect look.

After applying the eyeshadow, blend gradually up your eyelid to the crease and work the powder into your skin. After blending, apply a light white or cream shimmery eyeshadow above the crease up towards the eyebrows. By adding a light and shimmery eyeshadow around your tear duct, you will make your eyes pop.

Apply your dark eyeliner once again. This time start at the outer corner of the lid, starting just beyond and above the inner corner of the eye. Then apply eyeliner to the bottom lid as well and smudge the lower line as well. Here you may want to apply your eyeliner on the waterline, but its best to just apply at the very base of your lower eyelashes.

Complete your look by adding curling your eyelashes and applying your black mascara. To bring out this look the best, apply mascara, Magic Lash, and then mascara again. You could also go with false eyelashes, but Magic Lash is just easier.

Never apply moisturizer to the eyelids before your eye shadow because it will cause it to crease and not last as long. Use instead a Makeup Primer to help make your eye shadow stay put. You should exfoliate your lips regularly to keep the texture smooth and soft. You can do this right after your shower. Just apply lip balm and wait a minute or so and take a soft bristle toothbrush and brush your lips. You can use your towel too if you like. What every you do just remember to apply a lip balm again to help keep your lips kissable soft. Wear a lip balm at all times if you are not wearing lip gloss or lipstick.

Sunscreen all year around no matter were you live!! Did you know that the sun is brighter and harder on your skin in the winter time? Something about how it reflects off the ground and hits you right in the face double time! Wear your sunscreen! If you wear a foundation that says it has sunscreen in it, that isn’t enough in most cases. Check the SPF if its below 15 you need to add sunscreen.

Everyone likes to do lists so I thought well why not? Here is a list of Skin Care tips you should be doing. These tips are in not such order, just as I was thinking about I do for my skin I started writing tips for you.
Number 1~ Find out what is your skin type. Everyone has a different skin type and you need to care for your skin type that may be difference from mine. I have dry skin so I use products that have moisturizers in them. Your skin maybe oily, dry, normal, or for those who I think have the hardest time, combination. There is also acne but that isn’t really a skin type as much as a skin condition. (I will do another blogging soon on how to tell what your skincare type is)
Number 2~ One does not wash their faces with soap that was not created for your face. Meaning no harsh detergent soaps that work grat on your clothes but stay away from your face. There some very beautiful soaps that have been created to use on your face only. They are milder, and often have ingredients such as oatmeal and goats milk.
Number 3~ Cleanse you skin twice a day. First thing in the morning and then at night to remove your makeup and that days dirt and impurities and dead skin cells. Cleanse your skin with a cleansing lotion meant for your skin type. When you remove your makeup at night you are giving your skin a chance to breathe and refresh for the next day. There are night creams such as

Intensive Therapy Face Cream That makes your skin renew while you sleep. Its amazing for skin that is over 40 and a bit on the dry side.
Number 4~ One must use Sunscreen! It doesn’t matter if its the middle of winter you need to be wearing sunscreen all year around not just in the summer. Did you know that its a proven fact that the major bad burn we received as children will show up as a skin cancer in are later years? Think about that the next time you send your children or yourself out into the summer sun witout sunscreen. Its not a pretty sight to see what types of cancer the sun can give you. We need it for Vitamin D bit too much and it can really hurt us.
Number 5~ You need to drink water and eat your veggs if you want to have beautiful skin. What you put into you will show up on your face and body. What does your eyes look like if you had too much to drink the night before? Well to have beautiful skin you need to nourish it very single day.

Follow these tips and you should be able to have beautiful soft smooth baby like skin. The tips are not in any such order.
